
ALABAMA — Two people were killed and one person was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Thursday evening in Walker County, according to authorities.
The crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 19 on New Oakman Highway near Gray Farm Road, approximately two miles west of Parrish.
Officials said 38-year-old Whittney M. Barrentine died when the SUV she was driving collided head-on with a pickup truck driven by 50-year-old Christopher A. Brown of Oakman. Barrentine, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the pickup, 77-year-old Chester G. Brown of Oakman, was also fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.
Christopher A. Brown was injured in the crash and airlifted to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital for treatment.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division is investigating the cause of the wreck.
