
FLORIDA — Florida is reporting scattered power outages Thursday afternoon, with 3,555 homes and businesses currently without electricity across the state, according to the latest outage data.
That accounts for about 0.03% of the 10,909,368 customers being tracked statewide, indicating that outages remain relatively limited overall.
Despite the low percentage of customers affected, Florida currently ranks fourth in the nation for the total number of outages and 23rd nationwide for the percentage of customers impacted.
Outages are spread across multiple counties, with Calhoun County experiencing the highest number of customers without power at 1,111. Calhoun is also the hardest hit by percentage, with approximately 14.16% of its customers affected.
Other counties with notable outages include Bradford with 527 outages, Monroe with 379, Miami-Dade with 213, Broward with 200, and Orange County with 199 customers without power. Duval and Lee counties are also reporting smaller outage totals.
Utility data shows Florida Public Utilities has the highest number of customers without service at 1,111 and the highest percentage of customers affected at 3.63%. In total, 34 utilities are being tracked across the state as crews continue monitoring and responding to outages where necessary.
