
FLORIDA — A 24-year-old Orlando man was arrested Feb. 18 after deputies discovered more than 40 grams of cocaine during a traffic stop on U.S. 1, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said Renee Jesus Perez was stopped near Mile Marker 74 at approximately 9:16 p.m. Deputies reported that Perez had been observed handling suspected drugs earlier at a nearby gas station, which led to the stop.
During the investigation, deputies located approximately 43.3 grams of cocaine.
Perez was charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and use of a two-way communications device to facilitate a felony. He was taken to jail following his arrest.
