OHIO — A 41-year-old man has been arrested after police say he fired shots at a vehicle carrying multiple passengers, including children, during an incident at a Canton gas station.
According to Canton police, the shooting happened Tuesday evening at a gas station on Sherrick Road. Investigators said the vehicle, which had several occupants inside, including kids, was struck by two bullets. Authorities reported that no one in the vehicle was injured.
Police identified the suspect as Deon Davis, 41. Court records show he is facing three counts of felonious assault along with six additional related charges.
Dashcam video released by officers shows police pursuing the suspect’s vehicle shortly after the shooting. The chase lasted only a few minutes before Davis allegedly abandoned his car and fled into nearby woods. Officers said he surrendered seconds later.
Police also reported that a firearm was recovered during the arrest.
Davis is currently being held in the Stark County Jail as the investigation continues.
