OHIO — Three people were injured, including one man who suffered serious injuries, following a two-motorcycle crash shortly after midnight Thursday in Clark County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers responded to the crash around 12:26 a.m. on Troy Road near Upper Valley Pike in German Township. A preliminary investigation found that a 2024 Harley-Davidson Road Glide carrying a Springfield man and woman was traveling west on Troy Road at the time of the incident.
A second motorcycle, a 2022 Harley-Davidson Road Glide driven by another Springfield man, was also traveling west on Troy Road and reportedly failed to maintain a clear distance ahead, striking the first motorcycle. Both motorcycles overturned and came to rest in the intersection.
All three individuals were transported to Springfield Regional Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the second motorcycle was later flown by medical helicopter to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries. The man and woman on the first motorcycle sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The woman was later transported by ground ambulance to Miami Valley Hospital.
Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash, according to troopers. The Clark County Sheriff’s Office and German Township Fire and EMS assisted at the scene. The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
