Many homes and businesses without power in Pennsylvania

PENNSYLVANIA — As of Wednesday evening, 1,603 homes and businesses remain without electricity across Pennsylvania, according to the latest outage data. The number represents 0.02% of the 6,705,864 customers tracked statewide.

Pennsylvania currently ranks eighth in the nation for the total number of reported outages and 16th for the percentage of customers affected.

Among the state’s 67 counties, Susquehanna County reports the highest number of outages, with 478 customers without power. By percentage, Susquehanna is also the hardest-hit county, with 1.64% of its customers affected.

Other counties reporting notable outages include Indiana, Philadelphia, Bucks, Cambria, Wayne, Lackawanna and Armstrong.

Seventeen utilities are tracked across the Commonwealth. FirstEnergy reports the highest number of customers without service, with 570 outages. Meanwhile, REA Energy has the highest percentage of customers impacted, with 1.37% of its customer base without electricity.

Utility crews continue working to restore service where needed.
