
MICHIGAN — More than 4,000 homes and businesses across Michigan were without electricity as of Wednesday afternoon, according to the latest outage data.
A total of 4,119 customers were reported without power statewide, representing 0.08% of the 5,070,728 customers tracked.
Michigan currently ranks fifth in the nation for the total number of power outages and eighth nationwide for the percentage of customers affected.
Out of Michigan’s 83 counties, Emmet County reported the highest number of outages, with 1,079 customers without service. Emmet County is also the hardest hit by percentage, with 5.9% of its customers affected.
Other counties reporting notable outages include Delta with 975 customers affected, Mason with 511, Wayne with 482, Oakland with 212, Benzie with 162, Schoolcraft with 162 and Antrim with 153.
Among the 22 utilities tracked statewide, Great Lakes Energy reported the largest number of customers without power, totaling 1,590 outages. Cloverland Electric Cooperative reported the highest percentage of customers affected, with 2.12% without service.
Utility crews continue to respond to outages across the state.
