
VIRGINIA — Two people were arrested Wednesday morning in York County, Virginia, after deputies conducted a traffic stop that led to the discovery of drugs and firearms.
The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle at the intersection of George Washington Memorial Highway and Rich Road. During the stop, deputies found a large quantity of illegal narcotics, including cocaine, methamphetamine, and ecstasy. They also seized multiple firearms: two semi-automatic pistols, a .22 caliber firearm, and a 9mm handgun.
The suspects were identified as:
- Dalton Lee Taft, 24, of Gloucester County
- Lanette Marie Fleming, 45, of Gloucester County
Taft faces charges including:
- Conspiracy to distribute illegal narcotics
- Distribution of a controlled substance
- Distribution of a Schedule II narcotic
- Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
Fleming faces charges including:
- Conspiracy to distribute illegal narcotics
- Distribution of illegal narcotics
- Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
Both are being held at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail. The investigation remains ongoing.
