
NORTH CAROLINA — A 4-year-old child and a 19-year-old man were killed Tuesday night after an altercation in Rock Hill turned into a shooting, police said.
According to the Rock Hill Police Department, officers responded around 7:30 p.m. to the 500 block of Frank Street following reports of gunfire. When officers arrived, they found two men and a child suffering from gunshot wounds.
Investigators said a 19-year-old man and a 34-year-old man were involved in an altercation during which they exchanged gunfire both inside and outside the home. The 4-year-old child was inside the residence at the time and was struck by gunfire.
Police said the 19-year-old and the child died from their injuries.
The 34-year-old, identified as Cedric Akeen Creighton, has been charged with two counts of murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and unlawful possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain crimes.
Authorities said Creighton will be taken to the Rock Hill Jail once he is released from the hospital.
The investigation remains ongoing.
