Police searching for wanted drug trafficking suspect in Alabama

ALABAMA — Authorities are searching for a 55-year-old man wanted in Jefferson County on felony drug charges.

According to Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama, Willie James Stewart is wanted on warrants charging him with drug trafficking. The warrants were issued in Jefferson County, and Stewart has been wanted since Feb. 10, 2026.

Stewart is described as a Black male, 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing approximately 240 pounds. He is bald with brown eyes.

His date of birth is listed as May 11, 1970. Authorities say his last known address was in the 500 block of 37th Avenue West in Birmingham, Alabama, 35207.

The warrants were issued by the Birmingham Court Division and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

Anyone with information on Stewart’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama or local law enforcement. Anonymous tips may be eligible for a reward.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
