OHIO — North Olmsted police say facial recognition technology helped them identify a suspect in a theft at an Ulta Beauty store earlier this month.
According to police, the theft happened around 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 8 at the Ulta Beauty location on Brookpark Road. Officers say a man and a woman entered the store within seconds of each other and left just minutes later with approximately $1,650 worth of merchandise.
Investigators reviewed surveillance video from the store and used facial recognition technology to identify one of the suspects as Dante D. Roberts. Police said Roberts is wanted on a felony theft charge. The identity of the female suspect has not yet been determined.
Store management told officers the pair took several items, including Dior fragrance, Sam Duet fragrances, a Prada Discovery set, two Gucci fragrances, two T3 SinglePass curling irons and a hydrating conditioner.
North Olmsted police are asking anyone with information about the suspects to contact the department.
