One person arrested following drug bust in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA — A New Bern woman on probation is facing multiple felony charges after authorities said methamphetamine and a firearm were found during a probation search.

According to the Craven County Sheriff’s Office, members of the Criminal Patrol Bureau were contacted on Feb. 13, 2026, by North Carolina Probation and Parole officers who were conducting a search at a residence on Boxwood Court in New Bern. During the search, officers located methamphetamine and a firearm.

Samantha Paige Oglesby, 34, who lives at the residence, was charged with felony possession of a firearm by a felon, felony possession of methamphetamine, felony probation violation, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The sheriff’s office said Oglesby was on probation for felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and felony possession of a controlled substance at the time of the search.

Oglesby is being held at the Craven County Confinement Facility.
