OHIO — A 37-year-old woman was shot and killed during a reported burglary early Monday morning in Tipp City.
According to Tipp City police, officers were called to a home in the 900 block of Cunningham Court around 2:31 a.m. on reports of a break-in involving a resident who had been shot.
When officers arrived, they found the victim’s husband and two children inside the home. The victim, identified as Ashley Flynn, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Tipp City’s police chief described the incident as a “burglary gone wrong” and said there were signs of forced entry at the residence.
Officers secured the home and surrounding area while family members were contacted to assist Flynn’s husband and children. The Miami County Victim Witness Program also responded to provide support.
Police established a perimeter and used K-9 units and a drone to search for suspects in the area, but no one was located.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation has been called in to assist with the investigation.
Authorities said the shooting remains under investigation.
