OHIO — A 20-year-old man is in custody following a shooting at a Willoughby motel Saturday night.
According to a news release from the Willoughby Police Department, officers responded to the Skylight Inn on Maplegrove Road at approximately 9:15 p.m. after receiving reports that a man had been shot.
When officers arrived, they located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was transported to University Hospitals Lake West Medical Center and was later airlifted to University Hospitals Main Campus for additional treatment.
Police said a 20-year-old man was taken into custody shortly after the shooting. Authorities described the incident as isolated and said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The investigation remains ongoing.
