Thousands without power in Georgia

GEORGIA — More than 3,600 homes and businesses across Georgia were without electricity as of Sunday morning, according to the latest outage data.

A total of 3,643 customers were reported without power statewide, representing approximately 0.07% of the 5,363,719 customers tracked.

Georgia currently ranks among the states with the highest number of outages nationwide, based on total customers without service.

Out of Georgia’s 159 counties, Sumter County reported the highest number of outages, with 1,553 customers without power. DeKalb County followed with 674 outages, while Haralson County reported 369. Fulton County had 221 customers without service, and Rabun County reported 154.

Additional outages were reported in Morgan County with 128 customers affected, Floyd County with 90, and Webster County with 74.

Utilities across the state continue working to restore service as crews respond to scattered outages.
