NORTH CAROLINA — Authorities are investigating a reported stabbing that occurred Saturday in Carteret County.
According to Chief Deputy John Nyberg, deputies responded to the area off Hibbs Road on Feb. 14 after receiving reports of a stabbing. When first responders arrived, they found one person suffering from a single stab wound.
The victim was taken to Carteret Health Care for treatment and is currently being interviewed by detectives. Officials have not released the victim’s condition.
Detectives remained at the scene Saturday evening gathering evidence and working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, and additional details will be released as they become available.
