FLORIDA — A 27-year-old man was arrested Thursday in the Stock Subdivision following a narcotics investigation that led to the seizure of drugs, cash and a stolen firearm, according to the Leesburg Police Department.

Police identified the suspect as Xavier D. McCovery. Authorities said he was taken into custody on multiple outstanding felony warrants from Lake and Palm Beach counties and now faces additional charges, including armed drug trafficking.

The arrest was carried out by the department’s Narcotics Unit and Special Operations Division. Detectives reported observing McCovery enter a residence while knowing he was wanted on several warrants. During the arrest, investigators said they observed illegal drugs in plain view inside the home, allowing them to obtain a search warrant for a more extensive search.

According to police, the search resulted in the seizure of approximately 85 grams of methamphetamine, 40 grams of cocaine, 22 oxycodone pills and 2 grams of fentanyl. Officers also recovered about 2.5 pounds of marijuana.

In addition to narcotics, detectives seized nearly $6,000 in cash and one stolen firearm.

McCovery was booked into the Lake County Jail and is being held without bond.

The investigation remains ongoing.
