ALABAMA — Two people from Tibbie were killed following a single-vehicle crash Wednesday night in Washington County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

State troopers said the crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Howardtown Road, approximately three miles east of Tibbie. Authorities reported that Luke Dorman, 22, was driving a 2004 Toyota Tundra when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

Dorman was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the vehicle, identified as Melissa Laton, 21, was airlifted to Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola for treatment. Officials said Laton died Thursday from injuries sustained in the crash.

Troopers stated that neither Dorman nor Laton was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.

The crash remains under investigation by ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division.
