VIRGINIA — Authorities are actively searching for a man who has not been heard from since Tuesday evening, officials said.
The Amherst County Department of Fire & EMS says Jeff Stiles, described as about 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds with brown and gray hair and a beard, was last seen Tuesday night, Feb. 10, and has not been contacted since.
Stiles was reportedly heading in the area of the John Lynch Bridge toward Madison Heights when he was last seen. Search crews are focusing efforts along the James River in that area.
Officials noted that Stiles has medical conditions that require medication, and they are using all available resources in attempts to locate him.
Stiles was last reported wearing cargo shorts and a sweatshirt. Anyone who believes they have seen someone matching his description since Tuesday is asked to contact the Amherst County Emergency Communications Center at (434) 946-9300.
The search is ongoing and updates are expected as more information becomes available.
