LOUISIANA — One person is dead and four others, including a 3-year-old child, were injured in a shooting Thursday afternoon at the Willow Villa community in Hammond.
According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, five people were shot during the incident.
Authorities said a man in his 20s died from his injuries. Another person has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting.
Among the injured is a 3-year-old child. Officials have not released details about the conditions of the other victims.
The shooting remains under investigation. The sheriff’s office has not provided additional information about what led to the gunfire.
