INDIANA — A 72-year-old Fulton County woman was killed Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. 31 and State Road 110, according to the Indiana State Police.

The collision happened around 3:30 p.m. near the Fulton-Marshall county line. Investigators said the woman was attempting to cross U.S. 31 to travel east on State Road 110 when her vehicle collided with an oncoming car.

The impact caused one vehicle to stop on U.S. 31, while the other came to rest off the side of the roadway.

The driver, identified as Sharon Roth, 72, of Fulton County, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marshall County Coroner’s Office.

The driver of the other vehicle and a child passenger were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

State police said neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to have been factors in the crash. Authorities did not specify who had the right of way, but noted that traffic at the intersection includes signals directing drivers on State Road 110 to stop and yield to U.S. 31 traffic.

The investigation remains ongoing.
