OHIO — An 89-year-old woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash Thursday morning in Wood County, according to authorities.
The crash was reported just before 8 a.m. near East Broadway and Genoa Road. Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to the scene, where they found a maroon-colored vehicle in a ditch.
Emergency crews confirmed that the 89-year-old female driver died as a result of the crash. Her identity has not yet been released. Troopers said additional details will be provided in a forthcoming press release.
Authorities said speed is not believed to have been a factor in the crash. No other vehicles were involved.
The incident remains under investigation.
