WEST VIRGINIA — Chapmanville Middle School announced it will be closed Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, because of ongoing plumbing issues that could affect the building’s water service and sanitation systems.
Officials with the Logan County Schools district said repairs are underway, but the nature of the plumbing problem requires additional time to ensure the school environment is safe and all facilities are fully functional before students and staff return.
The closure affects all grade levels served by the middle school and will include the cancellation of any extracurricular activities scheduled on campus for Thursday.
Parents and guardians have been advised to make alternate plans for student supervision for the day and to monitor communications from the school for updates on when classes will resume.
