Snowfall possible in parts of Ohio Thursday

OHIO — Light snow showers are expected to continue across portions of northeast Ohio through Thursday evening, according to the National Weather Service in Cleveland.

Forecasters say the most persistent snow will affect areas closer to Lake Erie, though overall accumulations are expected to remain light. Most communities across northeast Ohio, including Cleveland, Elyria, Mentor, Chardon, Akron, Youngstown and surrounding areas, are expected to see less than 1 inch of total snowfall.

The heaviest snow in the broader forecast area is expected to remain east of Ohio in northwestern Pennsylvania. In Ohio, impacts are expected to be minimal, with no significant disruptions anticipated.

Even so, drivers are advised to use caution, as brief bursts of snow could reduce visibility and create slick spots on untreated roads, particularly during the overnight and early morning hours.

The light snow showers are forecast to persist into Thursday evening before gradually tapering off.
