SOUTH CAROLINA — Authorities have arrested one person and are continuing to search for two others following a chase that ended in a crash near Interstate 85 on Wednesday.
According to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began on Pine Circle in Pelzer when a homeowner reported seeing several people ransacking his shed. Investigators said the suspects fled the scene in a truck, and the homeowner followed them.
During the pursuit, deputies said the suspects pushed a stolen motorcycle out of the bed of their truck. The chase ended when the truck crashed near a tree line close to Sue’s Wings and Things, near Highway 81 and I-85.
Investigators later determined the motorcycle had been stolen earlier Wednesday from a residence along Shiloh Church Road in Piedmont.
One suspect has been taken into custody and was being treated by emergency medical services for a dog bite, authorities said. A K-9 unit continues to assist in the search for the remaining two suspects.
The investigation remains ongoing. No additional details have been released.
