
PENNSYLVANIA — A man is in custody and a woman is hospitalized in critical condition following an hours-long standoff in Lycoming County.
According to state police, officers responded to a home along Jordan Avenue in Montoursville shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday for a welfare check.
While at the scene, police reported hearing a gunshot from inside the home, prompting a standoff that lasted several hours.
Just before 2 a.m., officers entered the residence after hearing two additional gunshots. Inside, they found a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was taken to a hospital and remains in critical condition.
A man at the home was taken into custody. Authorities have not yet released his identity.
The investigation is ongoing.
