Five people arrested following drug bust in South Carolina

SOUTH CAROLINA — Several people were arrested on drug- and weapon-related charges following a series of traffic stops conducted last weekend in Darlington County, according to authorities.

The Darlington County Street Crimes Unit, assisted by the Darlington County Combined Drug Unit and Hartsville police officers, carried out five separate traffic stops between Feb. 6 and Feb. 8 in various areas of the county.

During a Feb. 6 traffic stop at the intersection of Russell Road and Shaw Drive in the Hartsville area, deputies recovered a stolen Glock 19 pistol, quantities of marijuana, and more than $8,000 in cash.

Zamyon Eaddy was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen firearm and cited for simple possession of marijuana. His bond was set at $10,615.

In a separate stop on Fifth Street, deputies recovered approximately 1.8 grams of cocaine, 46.7 grams of marijuana, and a digital scale.

Nicole Patterson was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine and marijuana, along with driving without a license. Her bond was set at $75,232.50, and she remains in custody.

On Feb. 7, deputies conducted traffic stops on North Center Road and at the intersection of South Fifth Street and West Carolina Avenue. Authorities seized methamphetamine, fentanyl, more than $4,000 in cash, a pill press, and over a pound of marijuana.

Craig Mitchell and Robert Clair were charged with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine. Bond was denied for Clair, while Mitchell received a $75,000 bond. Allen Jackson was arrested on a marijuana trafficking charge and given a $50,000 bond.

On Feb. 8, a traffic stop in the Florence-area portion of Darlington County led to the arrest of Dequincy Howard. Deputies said Howard was found in possession of a firearm despite being prohibited due to a prior violent conviction. Bond was denied.

Authorities said the investigations are ongoing.
