OHIO — Federal authorities are searching for two suspects wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred last week in North Canton.

According to North Canton police, officers responded just after 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, to the 300 block of Rose Lane Street Southeast after a resident reported hearing a “popping sound” and seeing a vehicle crash into a neighboring front yard. The caller also reported seeing two people running from the area and another person waving for help.

Police said the victim suffered a gunshot wound to his right thigh. A detective who arrived on scene used a tourniquet to stop significant bleeding. The bullet reportedly passed through the victim’s leg, and he was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The victim told officers he had been robbed by two young males who fled the scene in a gold-colored vehicle, possibly a Honda or Toyota, traveling south toward Canton.

On Tuesday, Feb. 10, police announced arrest warrants were issued for two suspects, identified as Jauron McLeod and Julius Edwards.

They face multiple charges, including complicity to aggravated robbery, complicity to felonious assault, discharging a firearm near prohibited premises, and having weapons while under disability.

The U.S. Marshals Service Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is assisting in the search. Authorities warn the public not to approach the suspects and instead contact the U.S. Marshals at 1-877-WANTED-2 with any information.
