Thousands without power in Ohio

OHIO — As of Tuesday morning, power outages across Ohio remain limited but widespread, affecting several counties and utility service areas statewide.

According to the latest outage data, 2,802 homes and businesses are without electricity, representing 0.05% of the 5,363,287 customers tracked across Ohio.

Compared with other states, Ohio ranked seventh nationwide for total outages and eighth for the percentage of customers affected at the time of the update.

While most counties reported relatively small numbers of outages, Tuscarawas County was the hardest hit. The county accounted for 2,219 customers without power, the highest total in the state, and 5.51% of its customers were affected — the largest percentage among Ohio’s 88 counties.

Outages were reported across multiple utility providers. Of the 32 utilities tracked statewideAmerican Electric Power Ohio reported the largest number of affected customers, with 2,580 outages. The utility also had the highest percentage of customers without service at 0.17%. Utility crews continue monitoring conditions and responding to outages as needed.
