FLORIDA — A Pensacola man was arrested Sunday afternoon following a traffic stop that led to the discovery of drugs, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Prentice Lindsey after he allegedly ran a stop sign near Olive Road and Deborah Drive. Authorities said Lindsey did not stop and instead fled the area, traveling onto Vickery Road before exiting the vehicle and running into a nearby trailer park.
After a brief foot pursuit, deputies located and detained Lindsey, officials said.
A K-9 unit later alerted to the vehicle, where deputies reportedly found approximately 238 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a quantity of cash.
Lindsey was arrested and charged with resisting without violence, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The investigation remains ongoing.
