KANSAS — A Deerfield man was killed Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash involving a Hummer H3 and a Ford F-150 pickup in Kearny County, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported shortly before 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Road AA and Road 250th, about six miles north of U.S. Highway 50. Troopers said the driver of the Hummer failed to yield at a stop sign, causing the SUV to collide with the pickup.

The pickup driver was identified as 32-year-old Dakota J. McInnis, of Deerfield. The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that McInnis was ejected from the vehicle and died from his injuries at the scene.

Both vehicles rolled as a result of the impact. The Hummer came to rest on its passenger side, while the Ford F-150 rolled onto its driver’s side, according to the crash report.

The driver of the Hummer, a 31-year-old man from Holcomb, was seriously injured. A 17-year-old passenger in the Hummer sustained minor injuries. No additional information was released.
