TENNESSEE — Memphis police are investigating after a man was found shot on Interstate 240 early Sunday morning.
Officers responded to the scene shortly after 2:30 a.m. and made contact with the victim, who told police he had been shot and repeatedly stated that his car had been fired upon. According to police, the man did not provide information about where the shooting occurred or details about the vehicle involved.
Police said the man reported he had been at a club on East Brooks Road prior to the shooting.
A woman who appeared to be wearing a shirt identifying her as an employee of the club arrived at the scene to check on the victim. She confirmed they had been at the club earlier but left before officers were able to identify her, police said.
The victim was transported to Regional One Health in critical condition.
The investigation remains ongoing.
