
GEORGIA — An 8-year-old girl was injured Friday evening after being struck by a vehicle while riding her bicycle in Adel, authorities said.
According to the Georgia Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred shortly after 6 p.m. on North Gordon Avenue. The child was riding her bicycle eastbound from a private drive and attempting to cross the roadway when she failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle traveling south.
Investigators said the front of the vehicle struck the left side of the bicycle.
The child was taken to Tift Regional Medical Center and later flown to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for further treatment. Her condition was not released.
The Georgia State Patrol investigated the crash at the request of the Adel Police Department.
