
PENNSYLVANIA — One man was killed and another was injured early Sunday morning in a wrong-way crash on the Parkway West, Pennsylvania State Police said.
The crash occurred just before 4 a.m. near the Campbells Run Road exit. According to state police, a blue Toyota Prius was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes when it collided head-on with a gray Mercedes SUV.
The driver of the Mercedes was injured and transported to an area hospital for treatment. The driver of the Prius was pronounced dead at the scene and was identified by authorities as 45-year-old Serghei Ganacuic.
A portion of the Parkway West was closed for several hours as crews cleared the wreckage and investigators examined the scene. The roadway has since reopened.
State police said the investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
