
MARYLAND — Nearly 8,800 homes and businesses are without electricity across Maryland as of Saturday afternoon, according to outage tracking data.
As of the latest update, 8,782 customers are reported without power statewide, representing about 0.34% of the 2,596,031 customers tracked across Maryland.
Maryland currently ranks fifth in the nation for the total number of power outages and fifth nationwide for the percentage of customers affected.
Outages were reported across all 24 counties in the state. Montgomery County had the highest number of customers without power, with 2,165 outages. By percentage, Montgomery was also the hardest hit county, with about 0.59% of customers affected.
A total of eight utilities are being tracked statewide. Baltimore Gas & Electric Company reported the most customers without power, with 3,292 outages. Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative had the highest percentage of customers affected, with 0.85% without electricity.
Utility crews continue restoration efforts across the state. No estimated time for full restoration has been announced.
