
LOUISIANA — Thousands of homes and businesses across Louisiana are without electricity Friday evening as scattered power outages continued statewide.
As of Friday evening, 2,669 customers are without power, representing about 0.12% of the 2,320,764 electric customers tracked across the state. The outage data was last updated approximately 10 minutes prior to release.
Louisiana ranked fourth in the nation both for the total number of power outages and for the percentage of customers affected, according to tracking data.
Out of Louisiana’s 64 parishes, Orleans Parish reported the highest number of outages, with 899 customers without power. By percentage, Orleans Parish was also the hardest hit, with about 0.46% of customers affected.
A total of 12 electric utilities are being tracked statewide. Entergy reported the largest number of outages, accounting for 1,915 customers without power. Dixie EMC had the highest percentage of customers affected, with approximately 0.49% experiencing outages.
Utility crews were continuing restoration efforts, though no estimated restoration times were immediately available.
