NORTH CAROLINA — A Greenville man is facing multiple felony charges, including drug offenses involving a child and fleeing from law enforcement, according to arrest warrants.

Police said Jarius Brown, 25, of Greenville, was arrested Thursday, Feb. 5, by the Greenville Police Department.

According to warrants, Brown allegedly possessed approximately one pound and one ounce of marijuana and knowingly exposed a 9-year-old child to the controlled substance. Investigators also charged Brown in connection with a separate incident on Jan. 16, during which he allegedly fled from a traffic stop at the intersection of Arlington Boulevard and Shawnee Place while traveling more than 15 miles per hour over the speed limit.

Brown faces several drug-related felony charges, including possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver marijuana; felony possession of marijuana; maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place for a controlled substance; and felony exposing a child to a controlled substance.

In addition, Brown is charged with felony fleeing to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, reckless driving to endanger, and failure to stop for a stop sign or flashing lights stemming from the Jan. 16 incident.

Brown remains held without bond at the Pitt County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in court Friday, Feb. 6.
