KENTUCKY — A woman was shot and killed early Friday morning near Louisville’s PRP neighborhood, according to Louisville Metro Police Department.
Police said officers were called to the 7500 block of Winstead Drive around 5:30 a.m. after receiving a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to UofL Hospital in critical condition. LMPD spokesperson Adam Sears said the woman died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
Due to the nature of the injuries, the department’s Homicide Unit is leading the investigation. Police have not released the victim’s identity, and no information has been provided about possible suspects.
