KENTUCKY — A woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle early Thursday morning on Dixie Highway, according to police.
The Shively Police Department said officers were called around 5:44 a.m. to the area of Dixie Highway and San Jose Avenue for a reported crash involving a pedestrian. When officers arrived, they found a woman believed to be in her 40s who had been hit by a vehicle.
Police said the woman died at the scene.
Authorities confirmed the driver involved in the crash remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The exact cause of the collision remains under investigation, but police said no criminal charges are expected at this time.
The southbound lanes of Dixie Highway at San Jose Avenue were temporarily closed following the crash but have since reopened, police said.
