SOUTH CAROLINA — A 67-year-old man died early Monday morning after suffering from hypothermia, according to the Anderson County Coroner’s Office.
Anderson County 911 dispatchers received a call around 1 a.m. reporting an unresponsive man at a home on Lawrence Road. Emergency responders arrived and found the man to be hypothermic. He was treated at the scene before being transported to a local hospital.
The victim was identified as Ernest Howard Nash, 67. The coroner’s office said Nash later died at the hospital as a result of his condition.
Investigators determined that Nash had been staying at a home that did not have an adequate heating source. The cause of death was officially ruled hypothermia.
No foul play is suspected.
