GEORGIA — Two people were found dead in what the Muscogee County coroner believes was a murder-suicide following a domestic incident Tuesday morning in Columbus, Georgia. A third person was hospitalized with injuries.
According to the Columbus Police Department, officers were called to a home on Grier Avenue after a woman contacted police requesting a welfare check. The caller told officers that a person she was scheduled to pick up for an appointment was not answering calls or messages.
When officers arrived at the residence, they discovered a domestic situation in which two individuals had been killed. Another person was found injured and was transported to a hospital for treatment. The extent of that person’s injuries was not immediately released.
The Muscogee County coroner indicated the deaths are believed to be the result of a murder-suicide. The names of the victims have not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
The incident remains under investigation by police and the coroner’s office.
