
TEXAS — Thousands of customers across Texas are without electricity Saturday afternoon as scattered power outages were reported statewide, according to the latest outage tracking data.
As of Saturday afternoon, 2,682 homes and businesses are without power in Texas. That represents about 0.02% of the 15,519,111 electric customers tracked across the state. The outage data was last updated approximately 12 minutes before the report.
Nationally, Texas ranked eighth among U.S. states for the total number of customers without power and ranked 20th for the percentage of customers affected.
Of Texas’ 254 counties, Harris County reported the highest number of outages, with 859 customers without electricity. Harris County was also the most affected by percentage, with about 0.04% of its customers experiencing outages.
Power disruptions were reported across multiple utility service areas. Of the 78 utilities tracked statewide, CenterPoint Energy reported the largest number of customers without power, with 973 outages. Deaf Smith Electric Cooperative recorded the highest percentage of customers affected, with approximately 1.74% of its customer base without service.
Utility crews continue monitoring conditions and working to restore power as quickly as possible.
