
LOUISIANA — Eight inmates escaped from the Riverbend Detention Center during the early morning hours of Jan. 30, according to the East Carroll Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the inmates were reported missing at approximately 1:20 a.m. The sheriff’s office has requested assistance from Louisiana State Police detectives with the Monroe Field Office, who are taking the lead in locating and apprehending the escapees. The East Carroll Parish Sheriff’s Office will remain the lead agency investigating how the escape occurred.
Officials said five of the inmates remain at large. They are identified as Destin Brogan, 22; Kevin Slaughter, 25; Kelin Looney, 21; Krisean Salinas, 21; and Koplelon Vicknair, 19.
Three inmates have been captured and are back in custody. They are Savon Wheeler, 31; Hugo Molino, 27; and Trenton Taplin, 29.
Authorities said all of the inmates involved in the escape are considered violent offenders and warned the public not to approach them under any circumstances.

The investigation remains active, and officials said additional updates will be released as more information becomes available.
