GEORGIA — Two men were arrested on drug trafficking charges following a brief chase in Thomasville on Tuesday, Jan. 27, according to the Thomas County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities said Thomas County deputies assisted the U.S. Marshals in arresting Tavoris Morris and Davonte Clark. One of the men was reportedly wanted in Tallahassee at the time of the arrest.

According to the sheriff’s office, marshals attempted to stop the suspects’ vehicle, but the men fled and drove into Thomasville. The pursuit ended when law enforcement officers boxed in the vehicle at a red light.

During the chase, deputies reported seeing a black backpack thrown from the car. A search of the backpack allegedly uncovered approximately 8 ounces of cocaine, 16 ounces of Alpha-PVP, also known as “mollie,” along with digital scales, packaging materials, and $2,642 in cash.

Both Morris and Clark were taken into custody and charged with drug trafficking in cocaine and fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement. The case remains under investigation.
