Several inches of snow expected in Ohio Sunday

OHIO — The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for several areas in central, south-central, and southeast Ohio, warning of snow accumulations and hazardous road conditions.

The advisory remains in effect until 1 p.m. EST Sunday for some regions and 8 a.m. EST Monday for others.

Affected Areas and Expected Conditions

  • Ross, Hocking, Brown, Adams, Pike, and Scioto Counties
    • Snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches
    • Slippery roads, especially on bridges and overpasses
    • Additional snow showers possible into the evening
  • Athens, Washington, Jackson, Vinton, Meigs, Gallia, and Lawrence Counties
    • Snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches
    • Hazardous travel conditions, especially for the Monday morning commute
    • Potential for a flash freeze overnight as colder air moves in
  • Morgan County
    • Snow accumulations up to 2 inches
    • Slippery road conditions expected
    • Flash freeze possible overnight into Monday morning

Motorists are urged to drive cautiously and be prepared for slick and hazardous roads.
