OHIO — A 66-year-old Xenia resident was killed in a three-car crash on US-35 West in Greene County on Saturday morning, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 10:27 a.m. east of Alpha Road in Beavercreek Township.
A preliminary investigation found that a 36-year-old driver of a Honda Odyssey, traveling west, crashed into the back of two vehicles.
The Honda first struck a Nissan Kicks driven by Robin Phillips, 66, of Xenia, sending the Nissan off the right side of the road.
The Honda then continued west and rear-ended a Chevrolet Equinox driven by a 54-year-old. The Honda also veered off the right side of the road.
Phillips died from injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the Honda suffered minor injuries, while the Chevrolet driver was uninjured.
Troopers suspect drug use may have contributed to the crash.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
