OHIO — Authorities responded to a crash involving an SUV and a utility van Tuesday afternoon in Greene County that left two people injured, according to officials.

The crash was reported around 3 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 235 and Ludlow Road in Xenia Township. Deputies and troopers, including personnel from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, were dispatched to the scene.

Investigators said an SUV was traveling on SR 235 when it hit a slick area of the roadway, crossed the center line, and collided with a Spectrum van. Following the impact, the SUV caught fire. Video from the scene showed extensive fire damage to the vehicle.

Both the driver of the SUV and the driver of the Spectrum van were transported to Miami Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.

The crash remains under investigation.
