VIRGINIA — A 7-year-old boy died following a single-vehicle crash Sunday evening in Pittsylvania County, where alcohol is suspected to be a factor, according to the Virginia State Police.
State police said troopers responded to the crash around 5:15 p.m. on Moorefield Bridge Road. Investigators reported that a vehicle driven by 35-year-old Corey Michael Pullin, of Danville, was traveling south when Pullin lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn.
Authorities said Pullin was ejected from the vehicle and transported to a hospital for treatment. The passenger, a 7-year-old boy, was partially ejected and taken to the hospital by emergency medical services, where he later died from his injuries.
Virginia State Police confirmed that alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash. Charges are pending, and the investigation remains ongoing.
