SOUTH CAROLINA — Police in Sumter are investigating after a Timmonsville man was found dead inside a home Friday evening.
According to the Sumter Police Department, officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of Fagan Street just before 5:15 p.m. Friday after a resident returned home and discovered a deceased man inside the house.
Police identified the victim as Jeremy Barr, 38, of Timmonsville. Investigators said Barr was an acquaintance of the residents and had been at the home earlier that morning. Authorities believe he was shot sometime during the day before being found.
Officials did not release additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting or whether any arrests have been made.
