
GEORGIA — The Monroe Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one woman dead and a man injured early Sunday morning.
Police said the shooting occurred around 2:30 a.m. in the 100 block of GW Carver Drive. Officers responding to the scene found a woman who was pronounced dead at the location. A man who was also injured in the shooting was transported to a hospital for treatment. His condition was not immediately released.
Authorities have not disclosed the identities of the individuals involved.
The shooting remains under active investigation as detectives work to determine the circumstances that led to the violence. Detective Mitch Studdard and Sgt. Josh Reynolds are leading the investigation and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
